Dr. Petersen is an experienced researcher on the topics of clinical reasoning, patient/client management, and manual therapy interventions and outcomes. He has received the Rose Excellence in Research Award from the Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapy, presented his work at numerous national and international conferences, and been published in top tiered medical and physical therapy journals. He has been a licensed physical therapist since 1999 and has practiced in outpatient orthopedic clinics in the United States, Germany and Afghanistan. He is a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopedics and a fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. His professional degrees include a Bachelor of Science in athletic training from Brigham Young University as well as both a Master of Physical Therapy and Doctor of Science in physical therapy from Baylor University.
