The Internship Program in Nutrition and Dietetics at Bowling Green State University has been in existence since 1992. We currently offer two options to interested students. We accept 6 to 8 students into the on-site program and 18 students into the Distance Internship Program.
Combined Internship Program in Nutrition and Dietetics + Master’s Food & Nutrition Degree (on-campus or on-line)
This option takes approximately 2 years to complete. The required 1200 supervised practice hours and at least 24 graduate credits are completed the first year. Successful completion of the program requires a Master’s Thesis or Master's Project or a Comprehensive Exam and a minimum of 37-39 graduate credits.
Distance Internship Program in Nutrition and Dietetics + Graduate Certificate*
This option takes approximately thirteen months to complete. Students must accumulate 1200 supervised practice hours and 15 graduate credits to successfully complete the program. You must choose sites beyond a 50 mile radius from Bowling Green. Graduate courses are completed on-line. It is intended to be completed in one year. Interns are required to attend a one week, on-campus orientation in August. Applicants with an existing Master’s Degree will be evaluated on an individual basis to determine course requirements.
Bowling Green State University’s goal is to provide all of our online programs in, all states. Federal regulations (US DOE) requires state authorization of distance education. At this time, we can accept applications from all states except Massachusetts.
*Students have the option of completing the Master's Degree. Contact the Program Graduate Coordinator, Dr. Dawn Anderson for more information.
