Michael E. Buerger, Ph.D.
Professor Buerger came to Bowling Green in 2001. Previously he was an Associate Professor at Northeastern University's College of Criminal Justice in Boston, after nine years as a police officer in New Hampshire. He has been a police researcher in a variety of setting, most recently serving as research director for the Jersey City Police Department. His current research interests are problem-oriented and community-oriented policing initiatives, their impact on police management and structures, and the resistance of police culture to reform.
