Grants are financial aid that doesn’t have to be repaid (unless, for
example, you withdraw from school and owe a refund.)
To be considered for any federal grant, the Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be filed annually. Students are
encouraged to apply as early as possible after October 1 prior to the
school year during which financial assistance is requested.
Federal grants include:
- Federal Pell Grant
- Federal Supplemental Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
- Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant
- Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grants
To be considered for the following state grants, students must be Ohio residents and must file the FAFSA by the state deadline, October 1, of the academic year during which the financial assistance is requested.
