The Importance of the BG1 Card
The BG1 Card is the official Bowling Green State University identification card and students are required to obtain one.* The BG1 Card provides access to events, campus facilities like residence halls and on- and off-campus restaurants. The card can also be linked to a student’s PNC bank account.
Obtaining a BG1 Card
In-order to receive a BG1 Card, students first need to submit a photo online or they can have their picture taken in the BG1 Plus office.
- Online Photo Submission: Photos need to be submitted 48-hours prior to the day the student wants to pick up their card. Submit a photo>>
- In-Person Photo: If you have problems submitting a photo or did not submit a photo 48-hours in advance, students can have their photo taken in the BG1 Plus office.
During new student orientation, it is important that students pick up their BG1 card before leaving campus. The BG1 Plus office is located on the first floor of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union.
Adding Funds to a Student’s BG1 Card
Funds can be added to a BG1 Card and are called BG1 Bucks.
This is an optional, free account that can’t be overdrawn and the funds can be used at all on-campus dining locations, Falcon Outfitters, vending machines, BGSU printers and the Falcon Health Center. In addition, there are multiple off-campus businesses close to campus where students can use BG1 Bucks.
BG Bucks carry forward from semester to semester and from year to year. You can also request a refund upon graduation or at the end of the spring semester.
