FALL WELCOME 2020

AUG. 20-25

Fall Welcome is a collection of events, programs and resources put in place to welcome first-year and transfer students to the Falcon family and get familiar with campus before classes begin! Please check this page often as we will continue to add events as they are finalized.

Between Aug. 20-23, a Fall Welcome Leader (FaWL) will be assigned to all new and transfer students. On-campus residents will also be assigned to a Resident Advisor. These peer leaders will guide you through your Fall Welcome experience. Your FaWL will also add you to a GroupMe chat so you can get to know other students virtually and you can plan to participate together.

If you have questions, please contact New Student Orientation at orientation@bgsu.edu or 419-372-0386. We’re here to assist you!

New and transfer students have several online educational modules they are required to complete BEFORE classes begin.

Education Modules

If you are a new or transfer student, there are several online educational modules you are required to complete by Aug. 30. These modules will help prepare you for the fall semester, regardless if you are living on or off campus.

In addition, there are additional modules we strongly recommend you view over the next few weeks.

Move-in Resources

As you prepare for move-in, make sure you review your official 2020 move-in packet and review the Residence Life resources.

Calendar of Events

Between Aug. 20-23, a Fall Welcome Leader (FaWL) will be assigned to all new and transfer students. On-campus residents will also be assigned to a Resident Advisor. These peer leaders will guide you through your Fall Welcome experience.

Your FaWL will also add you to a GroupMe chat so you can get to know other students virtually and you can plan to participate together.

Participating in as many of these events as possible will help set you up for success before classes begin. Specifically, ALL new and transfer students need to attend Convocation and Get with the Program

PLEASE NOTE: Event details are subject to change. All events hosted in-person will be facilitated in small groups in accordance to the State of Ohio regulations. You must ALWAYS wear a face covering (over your nose and mouth) when you are in any public areas on campus and follow COVID-19 health and safety regulations.

Campus Resources

One of the most important resources you should review before you arrive to campus and throughout the semester is our Return to Campus resource pages. This is where you can find the most important COVID-19 related information.
