Licensure
Teacher Licenses are regulated by state-level agencies. Licensure applicants must meet all requirements and follow all procedures of the state agency from which licensure is sought. In Ohio, the Ohio Department of Education serves as the licensing agency. The Office of Student and Academic Service verifies that applicants meet the requirements noted on the state licensure application forms.
Licensure for Current BGSU Students:
Successful completion of one of the degree programs that leads to licensure and any additional requirements for licensure (Praxis scores, etc.) leads to eligibility for licensure. The Office of Student and Academic Services will assist students with the licensure application process.

All Other Licensure Inquiries:
BGSU can provide assistance for non-BGSU students seeking licensure renewal, initial licensure, etc. This population may include students who have completed a bachelor's degree in a non-education field, current teachers looking to meet different licensure fields, etc.
The process for determining licensure requirements starts with contacting Dr. Eric Myers. He will determine what additional information is needed to help the prospective student meet licensure eligibility.
