Certificate Application Procedures

Individuals seeking admission to the graduate program in Special Education must have graduated with a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university or complete the degree prior to enrollment.  Admission to the program requires an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.7 or graduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 (when graduate semester hours are 9 or greater).

The application deadline for Fall Semester 2014 is August 11, 2014.  International application deadline is July 15, 2014.

1.  Complete the Online Application for Graduate Admission

A $45 nonrefundable application fee is assessed for domestic applications.  The international application fee is $75.

2.  Request Transcripts and Test Scores

Request one official copy of transcripts from every college or university you have attended be sent directly to BGSU Graduate Admissions.  (Official transcripts from BGSU do not need to be requested.)

TOEFL scores are required from applicants whose native language is not English.

3.  Submit a Statement of Purpose

Prepare a double-spaced letter that addresses the following points: (a) your motivation for pursuing graduate study in your chosen field, (b) what you hope to gain through graduate study, (c) your career aspirations following completion of the program, and (d) your personal qualities that relate to success as a graduate student.
