The Online Master of Education in Special Education with a Specialization in Assistive Technology provides professionals with knowledge of cutting-edge assistive technologies to help individuals with disabilities.
The assistive technology online program teaches students how to tailor existing tools to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities. It introduces students to the latest developments in assistive technology and teaches them to ensure that assistive technologies have long-term benefits in the lives of those with disabilities. At the end of the program, students must complete a master’s project, master’s thesis or comprehensive examination as their capstone experience.
Graduates have found employment in education, healthcare and advocacy positions. They are equipped to aid individuals with disabilities in making their lives more successful in school, at home and at work. This exclusively online program is the only of its kind in the state of Ohio, and one of very few to offer an entirely online program in Assistive Technology in the nation.
The program can be completed in two academic years with a minimum of 33 semester hours. GRE or PRAXIS scores are required and students must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited university in any academic discipline.
