Brief Biography
Prior to joining the faculty at BGSU, Dr. DuFresne worked as a licensed professional counselor at a community mental health clinic and in a residential setting with individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities in Ohio. Her specialty areas are working with individuals who are diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness, particularly individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia. Dr. DuFresne volunteers in the local community supporting victims of domestic homocide and indviduals with developemental disabilities.

Dr. DuFresne has provided service at all levels of the profession and is currently the CSI Professional Member Committee chair.

Research Interests
Dr. DuFresne’s research interests are in the area of end-of-life counseling and rational suicide, counselor preparation, and counseling for individuals diagnosed with developmental disabiliites.
