Clarence Page, Pulitzer-winning journalist for the Chicago Tribune, will present on issues raised in this year's Common Reading, Hillbilly Elegy, by J.D. Vance. Although Mr. Page's experiences were different from those of J.D.Vance, Mr. Page also grew up in Middletown, Ohio, and he has referenced Vance’s book in his columns.

In his talk "Hillbilly Elegy: A Culture in Crisis," Common Reading author J.D. Vance will discuss Hillbilly Elegy, his best-selling memoir which provides insights into his own past struggles, the struggles of Appalachian Americans, and the struggles of America’s working class.
