Status of Fall 2020 Education Abroad trips from Provost Whitehead
May 20, 2020
We continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and adhere to local, state and national guidelines. At present, Department of State continues a "Level 4: Do not travel" global health advisory, international flight schedules are still uncertain, and the behavior of the COVID-19 virus this fall is unpredictable. Due to health and safety concerns and the unpredictability of international travel, BGSU is suspending Education Abroad trips scheduled for Fall 2020. I understand this is another disappointing announcement, but the health and safety of our campus community remains our top priority.
Education Abroad opportunities are an important part of a BGSU education, and we will lift this suspension as soon as it is safe for our campus communities. We continue to closely monitor COVID-19 developments nationally and internationally.
You will be contacted by Michelle Ploeger from International Programs and Partnerships, Education Abroad, with additional information.
Joe B. Whitehead, Jr., Ph.D.
