Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
We are embarking on a voyage into the uncharted waters of fully online course delivery as a result of the rapidly evolving novel coronavirus. I recognize there is anxiety and uneasiness since none of us envisioned students completing the semester online with faculty and staff working remotely.
Moving to online learning and remote working environments is unprecedented, not only for BGSU, but for universities throughout the country. As we transition to this new model, I want to acknowledge there may be unforeseen challenges, but we will work through them together. Internal and external technology systems may be taxed, and there will be a learning curve for all of us.
To help lessen the learning curve, helpful resources can be accessed at the following links:
- Computer Access Forms and WiFi Assistance for Students
- Working, Teaching and Learning Remotely
- Electronic Service Catalog
- Knowledge Base
If you can't find answers using these resources, you can always reach out to the ITS Service Desk for assistance. During the first week of classes, the ITS Service Desk will have increased staffing to provide enhanced support during the initial launch of the fully online and remote working environments.
Our internet service providers are being stretched to the limit to accommodate the work and learning that is happening in homes throughout the nation. We expect to have technology issues both internally and externally, but we are committed to working through these issues. All of us – students, faculty and staff – will need to continue to be flexible and adaptable.
I appreciate all you have done and the patience you have exhibited. While we are in uncharted waters, we will be successful by working together and supporting one another.
