A message from the Dean
On behalf of the College of Technology, Architecture and Applied Engineering, I wish all our readers – students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends, partners and the community at large – a very happy and productive New Year! I hope you have had a joyous holiday season as well.
As the college winds down a very successful fall semester, with the largest increases in the size of the freshmen class and fall to spring retention in several years, we look forward to an even more fruitful new semester. Our Mechatronics Engineering Technology program is admitting new students as we offer new courses in the program and develop lab facilities. My colleagues and I are proud to announce that all three of our Baccalaureate programs, Visual Communication Technology, Aviation Studies (all specializations), and Learning Design and Technology, have been accredited by the Association of Technology, Management and Applied Engineering (ATMAE). It is also noteworthy that the Learning Design and Technology program is the first online program with graduates who have received discipline-specific accreditation at BGSU.
It is always a matter of great pride when we hear about success stories from alumni. You will find one about Jordan Schmelzer, a graduate of the Visual Communication Technology program, who has recently won not one, but two, regional Emmys!
As always, I would like to remind you that we would love to hear from you. Feel free to contact email@example.com, whether you have a comment or suggestion about this newsletter or any aspect of the college, or to share a news item that might be of interest to our readers. Also, please keep us informed of any changes in your email and physical address, so we may remain in touch.
