This week's essential COVID-19 information from BGSU Chief Health Officer Ben Batey

Watch BGSU Chief Health Officer Ben Batey's January 6 Video Update
This week, students have started to move in for the spring semester, and we continue to focus on safely returning to our campuses with increased testing capabilities to actively identify positive cases and implement isolation plans and contact tracing to slow the spread of COVID-19.
BGSU is offering free COVID-19 testing for all students in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union, including rapid tests, with results in 15 minutes, and PCR tests, with results in 24-48 hours. This testing is by appointment, with dates and times updated regularly on our Forward Falcons website. At this time, testing will continue to be reserved for students, both living on and off campus, as students are more likely to be returning from different areas over the holidays. Sign up for your free COVID-19 test now.
We appreciate all of the students who took advantage of our free, at-home COVID-19 testing as part of our residence halls spring move-in plan. If you are living off campus, or were unable to complete your at-home test or are awaiting your results at the time of your scheduled move-in, you are encouraged to sign up for a free COVID-19 test in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union.
If a student starts to develop symptoms at any point, even after receiving a negative test result, please get tested again. Testing availability will continue after move-in and the start of the spring semester. We plan to open testing to faculty and staff later this month.
This week’s dashboard, as outlined below and on the Forward Falcons website, reflects a cumulative report from 2020. Starting next week, our dashboard numbers will reflect the return to campus period and then reset on Jan. 11 for the spring 2021 semester.
Thank you for all you are doing and have done to keep our campuses safe and healthy. We are looking forward to welcoming you to the spring semester!
Be well,
