This week's essential health and wellness information from BGSU Chief Health Officer Ben Batey

Watch BGSU Chief Health Officer Ben Batey's April 27 Video Update
In this week’s COVID-19 update, our positive case numbers have decreased significantly as the spring semester comes to an end. The latest dashboard is outlined in this email, as well as on the Forward Falcons website.
Every day, we are closer to being on the other side of this pandemic. We are proud of how far we have come, together, over the past year to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, from wearing face coverings, to keeping a small social circle, getting tested, participating in our surveillance testing program and getting vaccinated. For any BGSU student or employee who has not yet been vaccinated, we are offering additional opportunities on campus this week.
Walk-in Pfizer vaccination clinic tomorrow
Tomorrow, BGSU will host a walk-in COVID-19 Pfizer vaccination clinic for first and second doses at the Perry Field House in partnership with the Wood County Health Department. The clinics will take place tomorrow, April 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The clinics are open to the public and appointments are not required. You will be asked to provide a form of identification. Vaccinations are open to those 16 and older; anyone under 18 will need to have a parent or guardian present.
Individuals receiving their second dose should attend during their previously scheduled appointment. Individuals receiving their first dose of the vaccine will be able to schedule their second dose at another location should they not be in Bowling Green when it's time for the second vaccination.
Single-dose vaccination appointments this Thursday
Single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccines have been approved to resume use this week. BGSU will host free COVID-19 vaccine appointments featuring the J&J vaccine for BGSU students and employees only. Appointments will be available this Thursday, April 29, from 2:30 to 5 p.m. on campus inside the Bowen-Thompson Student Union Multi-Purpose Room 228. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is approved for ages 18 and older. Please bring a photo ID. Schedule your single-dose vaccine appointment →
Volunteers needed for April 29 clinic
The Wood County Health Department is looking for volunteers to assist with the vaccine clinics this week. These volunteer positions would handle a variety of tasks and do not require formal training. These roles will be essential in helping the clinics run quickly and efficiently. Volunteer to help at our April 29 vaccine clinic →
On-campus rapid testing this week
BGSU will continue to offer free rapid testing on campus for students, faculty and staff. We have rapid testing available this Wednesday and Thursday for anyone who may want to be tested before traveling home. Schedule your Rapid Test →
We want to thank all of our students, faculty and staff for your flexibility throughout this academic year. We look forward to returning in the fall with a greater sense of normalcy and wish you a healthy, safe summer!
Be well,
