We have completed our seventh week of classes together! We wanted to check in with you to share some key updates:
  • COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations continue to decrease. As a reminder, our dashboard is always available. Please remember that your daily decisions impact our public health. Please continue to follow our health and safety protocols.
  • BGSU continues to offer free COVID-19 testing for students, faculty and staff, with a preference to those who are physically on our campuses. This increased testing capability allows for members of our community to have access to rapid antigen and PCR tests. Students, faculty and staff may schedule an appointment today. In addition, as we did in the fall semester, we are conducting randomized surveillance and targeted testing.
  • We remain committed to keeping you updated about COVID-19 vaccine information as it will be the most effective tool to slowing the spread of this virus. Distribution continues to increase, and more information is available about vaccines at Wood County Health Department and Erie County Health Department.
  • To our students who are learning in our in-person/hybrid, remote or fully online courses this semester, we want to remind you that our faculty and staff are here for you throughout this semester. We are always open to feedback. You can share both positive experiences and concerns by emailing President Rogers at president@bgsu.edu.
  • This afternoon, we shared positive news about our intent to have in-person commencement this spring. We are so proud of our 2020 alumni and May 2021 graduates! Watch President Rogers' video message in case you missed the announcement.
  • There is another Falcons After Dark event planned tonight starting at 6 p.m. in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union. Students are invited to a retro game night in the Lenhart Grand Ballroom.
  • St. Patrick's Day is Wednesday, March 17. Similar to our Winter Wonderland at the start of the semester, we are hosting a Shamrock Social, starting at 2 p.m. on the Bowen-Thompson Quadrangle, for our students to enjoy. Look out for more information soon!
With each day, we are closer to being on the other side of this pandemic. We are counting on every member of our community to move forward, which requires your continued adaptability and flexibility. We are in this together.
Regards,
