Greetings from the Department of Marketing! The former chair, Susan Kleine, has relocated to Massachusetts to coordinate experiential learning at Western New England University as her husband became dean of the College of Business there. Best wishes to them for their new careers at Boston.
I was happy to “unretire” so that I could return as a part-time interim department chair until a full-time chair is found. Although there is a change in the department leadership, there is no change to our continuous progress in providing students with an excellent education. We offer a diversity of academic disciplines/courses - marketing, sales and services marketing, entrepreneurship, (BizX) Applied Business Experience and business communications.
In particular, our relatively new product, sales and services marketing specialization (created in 2014), has been chosen by the University as one of its focused disciplines. Furthermore, as a result of receiving an excellent education from the marketing department at BGSU, our students continue to shine in extracurricular activities. One example is the team of marketing students who won first place at the 2016 regional sales competition sponsored by University of Toledo.
In this issue, you’ll learn more about student and faculty accomplishments. We would love to hear from you, too. Email your updates or questions to me at firstname.lastname@example.org or to the department administrative assistant, Marsha Bostelman, at email@example.com.
