Greetings!

Thank you to the thousands of students, faculty, staff, alumni and business leaders who participated in E-Week, the week-long celebration of entrepreneurship at BGSU.

The week featured a series of Lunch and Learns led by successful entrepreneurs who shared their unique perspectives. Four new members were inducted into the Paul J. Hooker Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership Hall of Fame - William Dabbelt, David Hainline, and Robert W. and Patricia A. Maurer. We hosted a panel of exceptional women business leaders at the first Women in Entrepreneurship Panel event. Six out of eight student business ideas received support from Falcon Investors at the highly-popular The Hatch™. There were 22 high school Hatch Watch parties from states as far away as California, Connecticut, and Arizona, and even one in Spain, along with more than 40 Hatch Watch parties hosted by individuals. We ended the week listening to renowned experts on blockchain at the sold-out Sebo Series in Entrepreneurship.

Besides entrepreneurial events, we hosted advisory board meetings and the prestigious Insiders’ Luncheon, where three high-achieving business students – senior Jon Wenning, sophomore Janae Johnson, and senior Phuong “Emily” Hguyen from Vietnam - were featured speakers. During the luncheon, three outstanding faculty were honored with the Leadership Council’s Faculty Excellence Awards – Katie Sobota (Teaching), Steve Cady (Engaging with Industry) and Liuling Liu (Research).

The future home of the BGSU College of Business, the Robert W. and Patricia A. Maurer Center, continues to take shape as the outside building walls are being put in place. See what has been accomplished by viewing the live construction camera.

In a few weeks we will recognize our Karl E. Vogt Outstanding Senior and will send off another class of career-ready graduates as we close out another highly successful academic year.

Thank you for reading Biz News and learning how we continue Going Beyond Business As Usual!

Best,
Dean Ray Braun ‘80
