As we close out another highly successful academic year, we look back on a year of great accomplishments! Here are some examples.
  • Broke ground on the state-of-the-art Maurer Center, the future home of business education at BGSU
  • 81% of jobseekers had a job at graduation, with an average starting salary of $54,771, among the highest in Ohio
  • Ranked #29 among the best public undergraduate business programs in the U.S. by Poets&Quants
  • Extension of AACSB accreditation in both business and accounting programs, placing us among the top 1% of universities worldwide
  • Approval and launch of our first ever doctorate  - Executive Doctorate in Organization Development & Change
  • Fantastic turnouts for E-Week events and a record $100,000 of investment in our Hatchlings’ business ideas by Alumni Investors
  • National and international awards for our students and chapters
  • Faculty earning international acclaim for their research accomplishments, and more faculty transforming traditional classrooms into active learning incubators through high impact teaching

We celebrated more than 300 highly prepared graduates leaving BGSU in May with their degrees, and we look forward to welcoming a large incoming freshman class this fall.

Prestigious National Supply Chain Management Award Goes To BGSU Student

The R. Gene Richter Scholar award recognizes the top supply chain management students in the country and puts them on a fast track to success. This year, BGSU student Shane McClure is one of six recipients.

Business Student Places 4th Worldwide in Capsim Challenge; 4th Consecutive Top Six Finalist

Max Pigza, a junior specializing in accounting and finance, captured fourth place in the Capsim Challenge spring semester, prevailing over hundreds of the world’s best challengers.

Oustanding Seniors

Alumnus Founded BGSU’s Outstanding Senior Award; Celebrating 30 Years and 3 Business Finalists
Thirty years ago, BGSU alumnus Bill Ficken ’63 and his wife, Eileen, along with the Alumni Association, presented the first BGSU Outstanding Senior Award with a generous gift to recognize the University’s top graduating senior. This year, three business students are among the ten finalists.

Amanda Cook

Dr. Cook recognized with President's Award for Collaborative Research

Assistant Professor of Economics, Dr. Amanda Cook, and former graduate student Alice Hanan Abboud worked on a research project focusing on the topic of Medicaid coverage rates for Hispanics and Spanish speakers. Dr. Cook was awarded the prestigious President’s Award for the research.
