New Student Registration

If you have received your acceptance letter from BGSU, your next step is to meet with an Academic Advisor to discuss course registration.

Click on the following steps below to help prepare for your advising appointment.

Preparing for your Appointment

Your email and letter from admissions included your BGSU ID number.

To create your account, go to www.bgsu.edu/newaccount   

If you are planning to take a General Studies Writing course to fulfill a high school English credit you will need to complete our Writing Placement,

If you are planning to take a math course or a math-based Science course, you may need to take a Math placement.  

Please complete all placement testing prior to your schedule advising appointment.

Prior to your advising appointment, it is important that you discuss your course options with your high school counselor.  It is recommended that you discuss the following:

  • Make sure your intent to participate form has been submitted.
  • What courses you need for graduation.
  • How many courses you need for athletic eligibility (if applicable).
  • The times that your Jr/High school classes will meet.

Be prepared to talk about your major/career interests with your academic advisor. Courses CCP students are permitted to take can be found under Course Options.

If you are ONLY taking a BGSU course at your high school. You are not required to meet with an Academic Advisor. Orientation sessions will be held in your classroom.

If you are taking a class on BGSU's main campus or online, please call 419-372-8943 to schedule your advising appointment.

Now that you have completed the steps to prepare for you appointment you're ready to meet with your academic advisor.

Location: Your advisor is located in 101 University Hall.  Here are the directions to reach the location of your advisor.

Parking: A parking pass will be emailed to you before your appointment.

What to Bring: Bring your HS schedule, a list of courses you're interested in, questions!
