Dr. V Jane Rosser

Dr V. Jane Rosser’s professional work has encompassed community and civic engagement, leadership, diversity and gender issues, organizational change, and civic activism.  V is the Director of the Center for Public Impact at Bowling Green State University and has worked in international higher education in the UK and the USA. They are a graduate of the University of Sussex in Political Science & English & American Studies, the University of Texas at Austin in Political Science, and received a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies from Bowling Green State University. Professional engagement focuses on a range of community-based partnerships and local and national grant-related activities, work with Ohio and National Campus Compact, and broad engagement in experiential learning and social change.  V provides leadership for a broad range of initiatives at BGSU that engage faculty, staff and students in high impact experiential learning. 

Graduate Assistants


Katie Evans

Position: Graduate Assistant

Katie Evans is in her second year as a graduate assistant in the Center for Public Impact, encouraging students to recognize and utilize their voices in community and activism work; specific areas include BGSU Votes, Faculty Development and Collaboratory. Previously, she worked in a similar capacity as the Coordinator for Community-Based Learning at Marietta College, in Marietta, Ohio. She holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Northern Iowa, where she served the campus as Student Body President. She volunteers in a few capacities, one being with the American Model United Nations Conference, to facilitate their annual conference. Now, as a resident of Toledo, she frequents the metro parks and local restaurants, while looking for opportunities to travel across Ohio and Michigan and beyond, on a budget!


Joanna Line

Position: Graduate Assistant

Joanna Line graduated from Oberlin with B.A. degrees in Biology and French in 2011. She earned an M.S. in Exercise and Sport Studies from Smith College where she also served as an Assistant Coach of Cross Country Track and Field. She also worked as an Assistant Coach of Cross Country and Track and Field at BGSU from 2016-2018. She is currently working toward her Ph.D. in American Culture Studies with a focus on sports for the promotion of social justice and sport psychology. In addition to sports, Joanna is passionate about travel as a means of promoting intercultural understanding. She spent one year as an exchange student with AFS in Belgium prior to attending Oberlin, and following graduation she was awarded a Watson Fellowship that granted her the opportunity to spend one year researching women’s empowerment through running in different cultures. She trained and competed with teams around the world in countries including Ethiopia, France, Norway, and Singapore. She continues to support these causes as a volunteer for Girls Gotta Run Foundation and Hostelling International USA.


Jon-Luke Martin

Jon-Luke graduated from Fort Hays State University with a degree in Music Theory/Composition in 2017 and from BGSU with a Masters in Music Composition in 2020. He is now starting his Masters in Public Administration at BGSU. Having long desired to enter civil service, Jon-Luke intends to use his time with CPI to best prepare himself. His involvement includes participating in and leading political organizations at FHSU and in Ellis County, performing for campus and community events during both his undergrad and graduate degrees, and composing for community initiatives, such as Fresh Ink, in Wood County.

Patrick Caniglia

Position: Public Impact Leader

Patrick is a senior Human Development and Family Studies major from Valley City, Ohio. At the CPI, Patrick works as a Public Impact Leader to lead and support efforts connecting BGSU students with volunteer and service opportunities. Patrick has a passion for service, and he aspires to pursue a master's in social work degree following his BGSU graduation. He is also involved on campus as a Co-Student Coordinator of Bowling Green Alternative Breaks, an undergraduate research assistant, and as the Director of RallyCap Sports BGSU. In his free time, Patrick loves to play sports and root for Cleveland's sports teams.

Hannah Koch

Position: BGSU Ending Hunger Coordinator

Hannah Koch is from Norwalk, Ohio and is a junior in the Dietetics program at BGSU. She is a non-traditional student and has worked in food service in restaurants and cafeterias for over 6 years. She aspires to be a Registered Dietitian and return home to practice in the Firelands area. She is the student lead on the Food Justice and Equity initiative, member of Student Nutrition Association and co-founded a student organization called Study Bud, that offers tutoring to BGSU students.


Laura Mosler

Laura is a third-year student majoring in Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management. She is passionate about helping others and she hopes that her time with the Center for Public Impact will allow her to develop that passion. Laura is also a Bowen Thompson Family Scholar with the 2018 Cohort.
