From our annual Leadership Academy to recognizing outstanding student leaders who earn the Ray Marvin Leadership Award, we have a lot to offer BGSU students, staff, and faculty interested in engaging in leadership development to become ethical and life-long leaders. In addition to our annual major leadership programs outlined below, we offer individual leadership facilitations open to anyone through our Exploring Your Leadership series.
In collaboration with the Office of Multicultural Affairs and Recreation and Wellness, the Marvin Center also offers Be the Creed Workshops.
Leadership Academy
Leadership Academy is the premier, annual leadership conference at Bowling Green State University, sponsored by the Marvin Center for Student Leadership, Campus Campus Activities, Residence Life, and Fraternity and Sorority Life . This one-day event takes place on October 5th and engages students in educational sessions targeted toward their leadership development. Participants have the opportunity to explore personal and leadership values, network with other campus leaders, and develop the skills necessary for success.
Falcon Leadership Institute
The Marvin Center for Student Leadership’s Falcon Leadership Institute develops self-aware leaders who have the skills to build professional networks and create personal connections within their cohort and throughout campus. Guided by the ideals of servant leadership, students participate in service-learning and leadership projects that enhance the community. Participants begin earning the BGSU Leadership Certificate by learning the skills and competencies necessary for a successful life and career.
