Leadership week focuses on providing the BGSU community with a variety of leadership development opportunities. The Center for Leadership offers a variety of programs, many in partnership with student organizations across campus. Additionally, any organization or department on campus can sponsor an event focused on leadership! Starting your Leadership Journey
5:00 pm -6:00 pm in 314 BTSU
Want to be a better leader, but don’t know where to start? Come to “Starting your Leadership Journey”, a session provided by the Center for Leadership to assist you in finding resources, finding ways to connect your leadership to your passions, and leave with an action plan to get started in making change in your community.
Inclusive Leadership Certificate- Intercultural Communication
5:00 pm -6:30 pm in 119 Eppler North
In a global society, leaders must develop and value inclusive skills, values, and practices. The Inclusive Leadership Certificate (ILC) is the perfect way to incorporate that competency into your leadership toolkit, meet people who share your interests, and contribute to making BGSU into a more inclusive community! This session will focus on the idea of communicating between different cultures, and how to use that skill in your leadership!
Finding Solutions: Utilizing Design Thinking for Collaborative Goals
5:00-6:30 pm in The Collab Lab, 122 Jerome Library
Learn how design thinking can be utilized as a helpful tool for collaborative leadership. Design thinking requires collaborators to empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Student leaders will have the opportunity to apply the design thinking process and develop solutions in an interactive, collaborative activity focused on the topic of student voter engagement. Sponsored by the Center for Community and Civic Engagement, Center for Leadership, and The Collab Lab.

L.E.A.D. Dessert and Discussion

Got something you want to talk about? Come enjoy a treat and talk! Presented by the Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) Club as a part of Leadership Week, this event is the perfect time to enjoy a dessert and talk about hot topics including current campus issues, leadership challenges, and how you can be a force for positive social change!
10:00 am - 5:00 pm in 101 Olscamp
The culminating event of Leadership Week: Leadership Academy is an annual, one day premier leadership conference at BGSU that allows participants to have the opportunity to explore personal values, network with campus leaders, and develop skills necessary for success. This event is free and includes breakfast and lunch! Register here by October 23rd
