Jump Start Sessions

The Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) will be offering "Jump Start" sessions on Tuesday, August 20th and Wednesday, August 21st. These sessions are on a variety of teaching topics, such as creating your course syllabi, using Canvas, and developing strategies and utilizing technologies in the Active Learning Classroom, and are intended to "jump start" your semester. Participation in these sessions is also an excellent opportunity to complete workshops toward earning BGSU's Teaching and Learning Certificate.

New Faculty Fridays

At orientation you will receive the book Shaping Your Career: A Guide for Early Career Faculty by Don Haviland, Anna M. Ortiz, and Laura Henriques. Throughout the 2019 – 20 Academic Year, sessions will be facilitated by faculty administrators to discuss and explore chapter topics. For the schedule and to register, view the New Faculty Fridays page.

Faculty Learning Communities

Throughout the academic year you may participate in a Faculty Learning Community. These Communities explore faculty generated topics led by BGSU faculty and meet on a regular basis to explore subjects related to teaching and learning. These regular meetings provide an opportunity for you to share your experiences and discuss challenges and solutions with colleagues.
