ACUE Effective Teaching Practices

Launching in Spring 2022, BGSU full-time faculty members have the opportunity to participate in ACUE’s comprehensive course on Effective Teaching Practices. This 25-week course prepares faculty in evidence-based teaching practices proven through independently-validated research to improve student achievement and close equity gaps. The course will be delivered fully online with a cohort of faculty colleagues. Registration is open at the link on the right navigation!

Benefits of Course

Faculty who complete the cohort-based program earn a nationally recognized Certificate in Effective College Instruction, the only college teaching credential endorsed by the American Council on Education (ACE). As a sign of your achievement, faculty will also earn digital badges, which can be added to curriculum vitae, used in online teaching portfolios, and displayed on LinkedIn profiles or webpages. Upon successful completion of the course, faculty will receive a $750 stipend

Course Timeline

  • Course begins February 21 and ends November 20, 2022, with a break over the summer
  • Cohorts typically complete one module per week over 25 weeks 
  • Faculty members spend approximately 2-3 hours of activity per week in the course
  • Interested full-time faculty are encouraged to apply by January 28
  • Notification of selection will be sent on February 2
  • A course launch will be held the week of February 14
