Student Leadership Opportunities
Civic Action Leaders
Civic Action Leaders are undergraduate student interns in the office of service-learning. They commit to the internship for 3 years, and in return receive an annual scholarship and critical skills needed to be an effective leader on and off campus.
BG Alternative Breaks (bGAB)
bGAB is a completely student-led organization that sends out service trips during fall and spring academic breaks. Leadership positions range from being a site leader for a trip to being on the executive board for an academic year or more. Trainings are provided for all leadership positions and individuals are equipped with the skills to plan and implement trips, facilitate meetings and reflection, effectively communicate with peers and community partners, and much more!
Serve BG is a student organization that organizes service opportunities for BGSU students. Their signature program is Service Saturdays, where they work with a community partner in Northwest Ohio for about 4 hours on a Saturday morning. Leadership positions for this organization focus on leading a meaningful service trip, making sure students are educated about the community partner, and learning about the logistical components that go into sending out a group of students on a service project.
