Dr. V Jane Rosser

Dr. V Jane Rosser is the Director of the Center for Community and Civic Engagement at Bowling Green State University. She has worked in international higher education for over 20 years in the UK and the US. A graduate of the University of Sussex in Political Science and English & American Studies, the University of Texas at Austin in Political Science, she has a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies from Bowling Green State University.

Her professional work has encompassed student affairs, women's centers, community partnerships, and more recently, service-learning and civic engagement. At BGSU she teaches regularly for the Division of Higher Education and Student Affairs and serves on the Women's Studies Steering Committee. She is an affiliated faculty member in Women's Studies and American Culture Studies. She was instrumental in bringing an AmeriCorps program to Northwest Ohio, and Wood County Corps has developed into a very successful civic outreach program for BGSU with members serving in 17 agencies in Wood County.

She is actively involved in a range of community based partnerships, local and national grant related activities and in work with Ohio and National Campus Compact. Her research and activism interests include access and diversity issues in high education, gender and LGBT issues, organizational change, qualitative research methods, service-learning and social change.

Paul Valdez

Paul Valdez is a 2004 graduate of Bowling Green State University, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Geology.  He graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington in 2007 with a Master’s of Science in Higher Education and Student Affairs and is currently writing his dissertation for the Higher Education Administration Doctoral Program here at BGSU.  Paul has worked at BGSU in a variety of roles such as Special Project Coordinator in the Honors Program, Major Event Coordinator in Campus Activities, and Assistant Director of Co-Curricular Programs in the Center for Community & Civic Engagement.  He also has a background working for Semester at Sea as a Resident Director as well as United Way of Greater Toledo as a Volunteer Coordinator.  Since 2007 Paul has been highly involved in the community and has served and lead a local nonprofit called EqualityToledo.  Paul is originally from Walsenburg, Colorado, but now calls the Old West End of Toledo home.  His research interests include identity development of students who have studied abroad and the impact of service-learning and civic engagement.

Kris Sautter

Kris has worked at Bowling Green State University since 1996. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies in 2013. Previously Kris worked as a Student Services Counselor and Administrative Assistant. She has developed relationships with multiple departments and enjoys working with the students watching them develop as they complete their degree.

She is passionate about helping others and she hopes that her time with the Center for Community and Civic Engagement will allow her to develop that passion. Laura is also a Bowen Thompson Family Scholar with the 2018 Cohort.

Megan Faulkner

Position: Graduate Assistant

Megan graduated from James Madison University with a B.S in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies and is currently completing her Master’s Degree at BG in College Student Personnel. Before coming to BG, Megan served as an AmeriCorps VISTA member where she worked at the University of Georgia in the Center for Leadership and Service. Megan found her passion for service through Alternative Breaks at JMU and loves sparking that passion in others. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, exploring new places, spending time with friends, and enjoying a good cup of coffee.

Joanna Line

Position: Graduate Assistant

Joanna Line graduated from Oberlin with B.A. degrees in Biology and French in 2011. She earned an M.S. in Exercise and Sport Studies from Smith College, where she also served as an Assistant Coach of Cross Country Track and Field. She also worked as an Assistant Coach of Cross Country and Track and Field at BGSU from 2016-2018. She is currently working toward her PhD in American Culture Studies with a focus on sports for the promotion of social justice and sport psychology. In addition to sports, Joanna is passionate about travel as a means of promoting intercultural understanding. She spent one year as exchange student with AFS in Belgium prior to attending Oberlin, and following graduation she was awarded a Watson Fellowship that granted her the opportunity to spend one year researching women’s empowerment through running in different cultures. She trained and competed with teams around the world in countries including Ethiopia, France, Norway, and Singapore. She continues to support these causes as a volunteer for Girls Gotta Run Foundation and Hostelling International USA. 

Molly Kosnak

Molly hails from just outside of Detroit, MI. She studied International Relations and Psychology at Oakland University (Rochester, MI) and graduated in 2016. Molly served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mongolia from 2016-2018. After completing the MACIE program, She hope to work with refugee children. Molly came from a family of volunteer-addicts, which has instilled in me a drive to serve my community wherever she is. Molly also love books and anything outdoorsy, and she make friends with every dog she meet.

Sarah Stauffer

Sarah graduated from Washington and Jefferson College with a B.A. degree in Political Science. While attending W&J, Sarah worked for the Center for Energy Policy and Management. This experience encouraged Sarah to seek additional education at BGSU to attain a Masters of Public Administration with a specialization in Environmental Management and Sustainability. Upon graduation, Sarah plans to work for a non-profit organization that focuses on sustainable development.

Brianna Rae Quinn

Brianna Rae graduated from BGSU with her Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus on grades 7-12 Language Arts in the Spring of 2018. She is currently working toward a Master of Education with a focus in reading. Brianna Rae has also participated in various summer camps as a volunteer camp counselor, and volunteered for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, the Red Cross, and Feed My Starving Children regularly in the past four years. After graduation, Brianna Rae hopes to find a job working with students in districts that caters to low-income students as a literacy coach or a high school English teacher.

Gabrielle Dendinger

Gabrielle graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Education Integrated Language Arts degree in May 2018. She began the Master of Education in Reading program here at BGSU a week later. Gabrielle's professional goal is to inspire students and eventually impact them and their families through an administrative role. She found her passion for education by watching the positive difference her mother made with students and families each year. Gabrielle enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and seeing movies.

Isaac Pritt

Isaac Pritt is a third year here at BGSU. While in school he have been an active member of the Educators in Context and Community learning community, the Center for Leadership, and the 4K For Cancer program. Post graduation Isaac will be pursuing a career in non-profits that enrich the educational experiences of children or a volunteer position in the Peace Corps.

Jacqui is a senior majoring in Public Health. She sees her future being defined by a passion for healthcare equality and global health. This passion was ignited by the year and a half she spent volunteering abroad in rural Honduras, C.A. After graduating from BGSU she hopes to continue on to nursing school and aspires to return abroad to use her education to address global health disparities.

Grace Gebo

Grace is a senior majoring in Multi-Platform Journalism with a minor in History. She is originally from Mishawaka, Indiana. Grace started at the Center for Community and Civic Engagement as a receptionist and is now working as the Communications Specialist. She is also the News Producer for BG 24 News. After graduation she hopes to get a job as a news producer.

Emily is a sophomore studying Ditetics. She chose dietetics because she loves working with others and has a passion for topics such as food insecurity. With such as large population of BGSU students labeled as food insecure, Emily hopes to help spread information about resources available to students. Through this position, Emily hopes to work to create life-long habits to reduce food insecurity and hunger for BGSU students and the Bowling Green Community.

Olive Bartholomew

Position: Civic Action Leader

Olive is a junior majoring in International Studies and Spanish, and minoring in Environmental Policy and Analysis and Mathematics. She is a member of the President's Leadership Academy and serves on the executive board of Environmental Action Group. She is very passionate about social change and has been involved with bGAB since her first semester. In the future, she hopes to work towards environmental change throughout the world, specifically Latin America.

Brandon is a senior majoring in Political Science with a minor in Sociology. He is from Bowling Green. Outside of his work as a CAL, Brandon is involved in the International Relation Organization and TEDxBGSU. After graduation, Brandon hopes to travel around the U.S. working on political campaigns.
