October is National Campus Sustainability Month!
Universities across the country are shining the spotlight on sustainability issues this month in order to spur action for change! BGSU has committed to taking a firm stance against global climate change by signing the Presidents' Climate Committment and completing a Climate Action Plan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040! Now it's your chance to learn about and get involved with sustainability at BGSU and beyond!
Tree Planting - Tuesday Oct. 23rd 1:30pm
Help BGSU celebrate trees by getting hands on with planting one on our campus! Shovels and other equipment will be provided, please wear appropriate footwear.Help plant trees on campus! Trees produce oxygen and remove carbon dioxide, and provide a host of other environmental benefits. Be a part of creating a living legacy on campus as we add 3 trees native to Ohio on our campus. Tools and gloves provided. Closed toe shoes required. Location: By BGSU Community Garden; (behind the Fine Arts Building, near the “Rock”)
ReStore - Wednesday Oct. 24th - 11:00am to 1:00pm - Kreischer Late Night
Why buy new, when you can reuse? BGSU's "ReStore" returns Wednesday, October 24th! Surplus BGSU office equipment/supplies are collected and made available to students and other campus offices instead of ordering new items. If you need any supplies, stop by anytime to collect free desk organizers, paper, 3- ring binders and much more! This event is open to all current students, faculty and staff. All supplies will be available in the Kreischer Late Night, which can be accessed by entering up the stairs facing the BGSU Rec Center. Join EAG to watch the movie Sustainable. "America is facing a food crisis driven by profitability and a lack of consumer education. While the window to transforming our heartland continues to shrink, passionate individuals have emerged who provide hope that the health of our nation might still remain within our grasp."

Sustainability Round Table with the Green Fund -Thursday Oct. 25th 12:30-1:30pm BTSU 315
Join members of the Green Fund and present your own ideas about sustainable initiatives BGSU can take. In this brainstorming session you will have the opportunity to learn about the history of the Green Fund, how to fill out a proposal, and share your own ideas!
Wind Farm Tour --Friday Oct. 26th 1:30
Join the Office of Campus Sustainability on a tour of a Wind Turbine Farm! This is a free event for all BGSU students, faculty, and staff. Participants will depart BGSU at 1:30pm from BTSU lot near Pub entrance; transportation provided. Please sign-up below.
Friday Night Lights--Friday Oct. 26th 6:30pm
Volunteer with Friday Night Lights and celebrate Halloween with trick-or-treating in the academic buildings. While turning off lights, you will find candy hidden throughout the rooms. Make a difference on campus by helping us reduce emissions while you also celebrate Halloween! Students can meet us outside 206 BTSU, the Union Theater, at 6:30pm. Wear your holloween costome!
Falcons After Dark--Friday Oct. 26th 8:00pm
The Office of Campus Sustainability will be collaborating with UAO and Falcons After Dark on Oct. 26th! Join us for FREE pumpkin carving/painting and sustainability crafts that include making organic laundry soap and reusable tote bags. The event will take place in the Falcon's Nest and will start at 8pm.
