I am currently a Junior in the Schmidthorst College of Business pursing a double specialization in Marketing and Management. Within the college, I am a member of The American Marketing Association, Student Ambassadors and I am the Public Relations and Communications Co-Chair on the Deans Advisory Council for Diversity and Inclusion.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my friends, painting, listening to music, working out and traveling when possible. An interesting fact about me is that when I traveled to Belize for a service trip, I got to zipline in their rain forest.

After graduation, I hope to work for a non-profit organization and be a part of their marketing team. Being able to understand how to market to people paired with my passion for service, is the interest I want to pursue and make my career.

Why I Joined DACODI: I joined DACODI because Diversity and Inclusion is important to me because I think it is important that everyone feels welcome here at BGSU. To me, BGSU is very welcoming and feels like home, I want everyone to feel that way also.

After completing an internship over the summer, I look forward to building a connection between BG and several major employers to support career development on campus. I am guided by the vision that every college student has either a promising internship or full-time job offered to them by the time they receive their undergraduate degree, particularly those who come from traditionally marginalized groups.

When I have open time, I enjoy cooking, writing, spending time with my family, travelling with my best friend, and planning out how to successfully navigate the next three years immediately after graduation.

Why I Joined DACODI: I joined DACODI to promote diversity & inclusion on campus, and my primary contribution over the last two years has been the creation of qualitative and quantitative surveys to assess how inclusive students feel the Schmidthorst College of Business is to them.

I am a third-year student in Schmidthorst College of Business. I am also an international student from India planning on doing a double major in management and finance. I am a Student Ambassador, Cultural Secretary and Social media chair for Indian Student Association, and also a member of World student organization.

I like to participate in co-curricular activities because I believe that it helps me transform my personality and also makes me confident. These activities also give me a chance to build my network and make new friends in BGSU.

On the other hand, Schmidthorst college of business also has a great impact on me since I came to BGSU. I feel that the atmosphere in the college of business is its greatest strength.

Why I Joined DACODI: Diversity and Inclusion matters because it’s about empowering people by respecting and appreciating what makes them different. This is very important to understand and diversity helps a person explore these differences in a nurturing environment.

Hi everyone! My name is Emma Harris, I am specializing in Business Analytics & Intelligence, Supply Chain Management, and Marketing from Findlay, OH. I plan to graduate in the Spring of 2022. Outside of Student Ambassadors, I am the President of the Supply Chain Management Association, am on the Student Advisory Board for the Peer Leader Program, on the Dean’s Advisory Council, and a Dean’s Scholar for the Schmidthorst College. Outside of the Schmidthorst College, I am a member of Alpha Phi Sorority, Order of Omega, and have been a Mentor through Mentor Collective. In my free time, I love to read and spend time with friends and family.

I recently finished working with Marathon Petroleum as a Marketing Analyst Intern.  I am currently seeking a full-time position within Supply Chain or in Marketing Analytics upon my graduation in May.

Why I Joined DACODI: I joined DACODI because I wanted to broaden my horizons on diversity and inclusion and prepare myself for working with many different individuals in corporate America.

I am a sixth-year student at Bowling Green State University.  I am currently dual degree seeking with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Accounting and International Business as well as a Bachelor of Arts – Asian Studies with a minor in Japanese.  I started out attending Missouri State University and transferred to BGSU a little over three years ago to finish out my undergraduate level courses.

In my free time I enjoy playing baseball and volleyball, going kayaking, spending time with friends, and listening to music.  With being from Missouri, I don’t get to go home often to see family and friends, but it is always a priority whenever possible.  A fun fact would be that I can name every single Pokémon, Generation 1-8.

After graduation I hope to pursue a Masters Degree in International Business.  I would like to work for an international company, either in their U.S. location or abroad, with a special area of interest being Japan.

Why I Joined DACODI: I joined DACODI because diversity and inclusion are very important to me.  As a non-traditional transfer student, and a member of the LBTQ+ community, making sure that everyone has a place to call home where they are included, and celebrated, is a top priority.  I have found a second family here in the SCoB and I want to extend that family atmosphere to as many people as I can, from all walks of life.

I am a conscientious person with an international perspective, seeking to facilitate trade between Vietnam and the world through being a proactive and productive team player. I commit myself to the highest standards while striving to reach new heights. I want to enable incoming international students to have a wholesome and engaging experience during their time in the United States. Likewise, I seek to provide American students with an international perceptive, showing them different cultures and worldviews.

I am a fourth-year student in the Schmidthorst College of Business specializing in marketing. I plan to graduate Spring of 2022. While at BGSU, I’ve been involved in Feed My Starving Children, Women in Business Leadership, and American Marketing association. I’m also a mentor for Mentor Collective. In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends and family, listening to music, and traveling. After graduation, I plan to pursue a Masters Degree in Business Administration. I am currently seeking an internship within marketing to gain additional experience.

Why I Joined DACODI: I joined DACODI to advocate for diversity and inclusion. It’s important for everyone to feel like they belong. Joining DACODI will allow me to enhance experiences, to give value to each individual, no matter the differences. Ultimately, I wanted to have the ability to make a difference and empower others to do the same.

I first joined DACODI as a Freshman in 2020. At the time I was also involved with the business district here at BGSU. Currently I am working for DACODI as the Liaison Chair and the Resident Student Association as the VP of Diversity and Inclusion. It is my belief that a Diverse pool of individuals on a team has the most potential for creativity, new ideas and growth.

I am an alum and current graduate student here at BGSU. I recently graduated with my B.S. in Education and Human Development, and I am currently pursuing an MBA to further propel my career. In my free time, I enjoy traveling whenever I have the chance! I also love all things outdoor, like, camping, hiking and snowboarding.

Why I Joined DACODI: I joined DACODI, because I know that diversity and inclusion are some of our most powerful tools to setting new standards and making a positive change in my community.

I am a first-year student in the Schmidthorst College of Business pursuing a specialization in Finance. With the University, I am involved in the Financial Management Society and a collaborative member with the Marvin Center for Student Leadership. Outside of school, I enjoy exercising, listening to music, and reading about current events in the world. During the summer, I enjoy long walks with my pet dog named Ernie and hanging out with friends I normally do not see during the school year. Throughout my time with the CoB, I would like to seek relevant work experience with an employer who can teach and make me have an influential impact in the Finance industry.

Why I Joined DACODI: I joined DACODI because of the unique opportunity it provides to positively affect the University and community. I enjoy being a member of DACODI because it inspires students and people to learn about new cultures and unique ideas that will have a lasting impact for the rest of their lives.

With many years dedicated to a wonderful career across various industries in the private sector, I have experience with strong background in leadership, management, sales, IT, and finance amongst others.

I enjoy traveling and look for such opportunities, playing Scrabble, listening to music and dancing. I am also open to trying food from other cultures as you’re likely to find me in places where there is positive flow of vibes else I help to create one.

Part of my resolution is to be intentional and positively impactful with the people I come in contact with, also providing mentorship where necessary. I never miss a chance to learn something new!

Why I Joined DACODI: Diversity and inclusion is my reflection here in BGSU and I am a member aligning to the core values of DACODI wanting to promote avenues that foster lasting relationships, awareness and understanding of people’s personalities, ethnicities, and background amongst others while hoping for a healthy balance that further break barriers which have continued to threaten our peaceful coexistence marred by racial profiling, gender discrimination, ethno-religious crisis and more.
