Growing up in the small town of Sugarcreek, Ohio, I have engaged in many leadership opportunities through 4-H and the Ohio Junior Holstein Association from an early age. In 2017, I served as Ohio Holstein Queen where I represented the Holstein breeders of Ohio at state and national events. I was active at Garaway High School where I was elected as a class officer, participated in cheerleading, maintained honor roll status, president of Student Council, and my 4-H Club and was an active member of my local community.
Since coming to BGSU, I have found my niche, discovered my passion and deepened my leadership capability. I am a Dean’s Scholar in the College of Business dual specializing in Financial Planning and hoping to peruse a career in financial management one day. I value personal relationships and aspire to build connections with my clients that will help me to better serve them each individually. By being named to the highly selective Student Ambassador Program by the College of Business, I will give me the privilege of working alongside Dean Braun to represent our college to potential and current students as well as alumni. Sharing why I have come to love BG with perspective students, in hopes that they come and experience what I have is something I greatly enjoy taking part in.
Being part of Bowling Green State University’s Falcon Leadership Institute, I have developed my skills as a self-aware leader and worked to gain knowledge that will help me build professional networks, create lasting relationships and develop my communication skills. All these experiences have enhanced my academic curriculum, and I have been able to maintain a positive balance between being a student and a student leader.
One word I would use to describe our College of Business is, “effective”. Choosing Bowling Green State University’s College of Business is choosing to invest in an education that stretches far beyond what is taught in the classroom. It’s choosing to connect with people who believe in you. Ever since stepping foot on campus I have been empowered and encouraged to follow my dreams. The College of Business began teaching me even before the first day of classes, embodies both innovative thinking and passion and above all gave me a place that feels like home, yet still challenges me like any good parent, mentors me like someone who cares, and believes in me like no one ever has before. I am forever grateful for the countless doors that have opened ever since I chose BG. When the day comes that I receive my degree I will be leaving a place that I have come to love; but leaving fully confident that I am prepared for my future, all thanks to our College of Business always going, Beyond Business as Usual.
