Mary Lietaert

Hi! I am currently a first year student at BGSU pursuing a degree in Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management with a minor in Marketing. My primary focus is immersing myself in the college experience, getting involved with various clubs, and fostering connections with my classmates.

Outside of academics, I love coffee runs, thrifting, volunteering within my church community, and playing tennis. I love being involved in campus organizations, and I am currently a member of Women in Business Leadership, and various faith-based organizations such as Delight Women's Ministry, CRU, and Young Life.

Traveling is one of my favorite things to do, and I’ve had the incredible opportunity to visit two of the seven wonders of the world, the Chichén Itzá and the Colosseum, which further influenced my passion for global hospitality.

My long-term career goal would be to hold a Hospitality Marketing Sales position, ideally for a Cruise line. I am eager to create positive experiences for customers while contributing to the brand awareness of the organization I represent.

What influenced me to join the Schmidthorst College of Business Student Ambassadors team was the genuine connections you make with those in the program. I believe expanding my networking community and professionalism skills is very beneficial, and the ambassador team will allow me to do just that.
