"With all of the opportunities we are provided, as cliché as it may sound, the Schmidthorst College of Business has made some of my wildest dreams come true."

My name is Janae Johnson, and I am a senior studying Finance and Business Analytics and Intelligence. I am from Euclid, Ohio, which is about twenty-five minutes from downtown Cleveland.

Within the Schmidthorst  College of Business, I am one of the four executive members for the Schmidthorst College of Business Student Ambassadors, I am the Council Organizer for Dean’s Advisory Council for Diversity and Inclusion, and I serve as a Student Organization Representative for Dean’s Advisory Council. Outside of the college, I am actively involved in my scholarship committee, for I serve as an ambassador and a peer mentor for the Thompson Family Scholarship.

When I am not in class, or participating in an extra-circular activity, I enjoy watching Marvels movies (I’ve seen every single one of the them), crying over Grey’s Anatomy, and spending time with my friends. When I travel back home, I am either spending time with my family or volunteering at the Cleveland Food Bank.

While I love BGSU, I am excited to embark on the journey of senior year. After graduation, I look forward to working for a company who has high moral values, has an amazing work culture, and will provide me with an environment for me to incorporate my passions for numbers and data.

Words will never truly be able to describe how much the Schmidthorst College of Business has impacted my life. Due to my courses, my professors, and all of the resources on campus, I have been fortunate enough to complete four internships with four incredible companies, I’ve gotten to create some amazing connections and friendships, and I have been develop and hone tools needed to ensure a successful future. With all of the opportunities we are provided, as cliché as it may sound, the Schmidthorst CoB has made some of my wildest dreams come true.
