Professional Master of Business Administration (PMBA)
The Professional Master of Business program provides an internationally recognized management education to current business professionals who aspire to advance in their careers in 23 months of part-time study.
Each cohort of 25-30 experienced professionals work together as a team to maximize each individual's personal and professional development. Classes are composed of only working professionals. Small class sizes allow more interaction with faculty and among the group and promote valuable networking opportunities.
The BGSU College of Business is one of only 178 programs in the world whose business and accounting programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International, AACSB, the pinnacle of accreditation in business education.
The curriculum is designed to provide students a solid foundation in business theories and principles. It develops the skills that managers need to analyze business decisions and lead organizations. Classes are interactive and students learn from the experiences their classmates bring from their own organizations.
Courses for the Professional MBA program are available at BGSU’s Perrysburg and Findlay campuses. For students who begin in Fall 2019 or later the courses will be “blended” courses. This means that each class includes online and in-class interaction. Students will meet in-person one time per week for three hours at a time from 6pm to 9pm.
Applicants with five or more years of professional work experience, and an undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale may be eligible for an exemption from the GMAT or Applicants with a master's degree from a regionally accredited US university (e.g., a university accredited by the North Central Association) may also be eligible for an exemption from the GMAT. Please contact Graduate Programs in Business, Dave Chatfield – firstname.lastname@example.org; 419-372-2473 for more information on the GMAT waiver.
The College of Business supports students to reach their fullest potential through learning, discovery, and service. BGSU’s MBA programs have been identified on The Princeton Review’s list of “Best Business Schools” for the last nine consecutive years, and Business Week ranks it as one of the top 20 colleges of business in the United States. The BGSU College of Business has also been recognized for its quality in US News and World Report and Military Times.
Breanna Snyder, Class of 2016, Treasurer/CFO
"I really enjoyed attending BGSU's PMBA program. It allowed me to maintain a Full-Time job while going to class. Having class two nights a week also allowed me to really focus on those two classes rather than spreading myself thin between four or five. While in the program I was working as a Business Analyst at a healthcare facility. It was more of an entry level position for someone with a Bachelor's. Since graduating I definitely have gained confidence in my business knowledge and confidence in myself as a leader. My current position is a CFO within the school district. I was able to recall valuable information from my Finance and Accounting classes and apply them in the real world. The PMBA program truly helped me become the successful CFO I am today."
Guodong (Alex) Zhu, Class of 2013, Sr. Global Marketing Analytics Manager
"The program helped me to build my business acumen and that has benefited my career greatly. Understanding how to use data to drive business growth is my job at Seagate. The BGSU program helped me to stand out from strong competitors in the Silicon Valley area."
Robin Richter, Class of 2012, Director
"The quality of teaching in the BGSU's PMBA program was exemplary. The diversity of the faculty's academic and business backgrounds brought the curriculum to life in each and every class. I had been out of the academic learning environment for nearly 30 years. The BGSU faculty and staff were extremely supportive as I made the transition back into this world at age 45, graduating just shy of my 50th birthday. The PMBA degree program was really fun! After working a full-day and then going to a classroom setting in the evening didn't feel like school. Each class was a fabulous opportunity to hone in management skills I had been building in my job experience over the last 25 years. The MBA degree has augmented my undergraduate degree and work experience immensely.

I liked the hybrid schedule, one night a week plus online work. It worked very well with my work schedule. I am retiring from the military in about a year and a half, so this program will help me transition to the civilian workforce. I have also met some great people that I hope to stay in contact with to broaden my network. I expect that this degree, along with the experience gained in the Army, will help me gain the knowledge to do well in today's civilian corporate market and also help me run my personal business.
