Minimum Qualifications: Successful applications will have an earned MBA or a Master’s Degree in the area of instruction or in a related field is required with substantial professional experience or a doctoral degree with substantial professional experience or scholarly activities. JD or higher from an ABA approved law schools is required for Business Law.

Preferred Qualifications:

1.     Applicants in disciplines other than economics, business calculus, analytics, operations research will have a degree from an AACSB accredited Business School;

2.     Work experience in a related field, evidence of recent continuing education and/or professional certification in their field; 

3.     A record of teaching excellence; and/or

4.     Experience in teaching face to face, synchronous remote, and fully asynchronous online formats

Darwin B. Close Professor of Insurance and Risk Management

The Department of Finance at Bowling Green State University invites applications for a tenured position at the Full Professor level with Darwin B. Close Professorship with a primary interest in Insurance and Risk Management and a secondary interest in any area of Finance.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must possess an earned Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Insurance & Risk Management, Finance or a closely related field.  Quality teaching and research in Insurance/Risk Management/Finance will be evaluated on demonstrated record for excellence in teaching (teaching evaluations, awards, etc.) and a distinguished record of research in Insurance/Risk Management/Finance with an ongoing research agenda aimed at high quality publications in Insurance/Risk Management/Finance journals.  Evidence of teaching effectiveness in Insurance and Risk Management is required, and industry experience is preferred.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY: Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate (MBA) levels and conducting high quality research leading to publication.  The successful candidate will be expected to provide leadership for the Insurance and Risk Management program.  The individual will also be expected to participate actively in departmental programs and college/university-wide and community service activities.  Both undergraduate and MBA programs are AACSB accredited.
