Cooperative Education Details

CHARACTERISTIC	Cooperative Education
GOAL	Provides students with practical experience related to their major that will enhance and complement their classroom learning.
NUMBER OF SEMESTERS	Two or three semesters interspersed with semesters in school.
YEAR IN SCHOOL	During late sophomore or early junior year.
WORK ASSIGNMENTS	Students' assignments often increase in difficulty and responsibility as they progress through their college education and they may work in different functional areas.
TRAINING	More training by employer than internship.
PAY	Most are paid.
CREDIT	Students receive a transcript notation: COOP 050, 0 credit hours
POST GRADUATION OPPORTUNITIES	Frequently higher starting salaries and higher level of responsibility than interns.
