James Nester is currently working as the Manager of Global Manufacturing and Engineering Service Delivery at Owens-Illinois, Inc. (O-I). James is a member of the Information Technology Leadership Team and works with IT Leaders around the world on key company initiatives. James is accountable for enterprise manufacturing systems that support and run the company’s operations and engineering applications that support management of company assets and their lifecycle. Additionally, James leads the team to develop the technology strategy and roadmap for the manufacturing and engineering disciplines globally.
Previous to his current role, James led the Reporting and Analytics function within Information Technology, developing a new company strategy for addressing the growing need for self-service analytics and harnessing the power of “Big Data”. James also has 3 years’ experience in continuous improvement being certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt in 2009. James joined O-I in 2000 and has worked in many functions within IT over the past 15 years in addition to those previously mentioned including project management, information technology service management, and continuous improvement. He earned a BLS from Bowling Green State University with a focus on Computer Science and Education.
