A MESSAGE FROM DEAN BRAUN
We held successful events this month including a teaching summit focusing on the flipped classroom and a new event called The Scrambler, which is designed to help The Hatch selection committee narrow down the pool of applicants to our final ten Hatchlings.

We finalized the keynote speaker for the Sebo Series in Entrepreneurship and are pleased to announce John Kelly of IBM will be discussing Digital Entrepreneurship: Transforming the Workplace and the Economy. Kelly oversees the Watson project, the IBM supercomputer that made its debut during Jeopardy and wowed the audience after defeating two of the game show's greatest champions.

Our applications are up significantly for the fall of 2016 and retention numbers are consistently increasing. Rankings continue to be strong and our students are finding jobs with competitive salaries. This is a great time to be a student in the College of Business at BGSU!

Thank you for reading the November issue of Biz News. You will note how our students, faculty and alumni are Going Beyond Business as Usual. If you are aware of other College of Business stories, please share with me at rwbraun@bgsu.edu.

Warm regards,
Raymond Braun '80

Kevin was one of those individuals I started to advise early on. He was a bit on the quiet side, but I could tell immediately that here was a person who was interested in learning. After graduating from BGSU with a BS-Economics degree in May of 2014, Kevin has certainly used the skills developed as an economics major to find a job that suits him very well.
