Get Involved

Join a cultural movement aimed at fundamentally shifting the way we think about sexual assault. BGSU has a variety of programs that are reframing sexual assault in a way that inspires everyone to see it as their responsibility to do something, big or small, to prevent it. BGSU is charged with creating an environment, be it in a residence hall, a party, a club or a sports team, or the greater college campus, where sexual assault is unacceptable and survivors are supported.

1. Talk to your friends and teammates. Share what you learned and challenge them to create a culture of respect at BGSU right along with you.

2. Wear your t-shirts. Make the message loud and clear! Engage in conversations with others as they ask you about your shirt, or talk with a fellow student who is wearing a shirt.

3. Use social media to spread the message. Become part of the movement by writing a simple post or taking a picture or video of yourself at one of the campus installations. Use #StepUpStepIn or #BGItsOnUS to show your support. So far, there are graphics at the Student Recreation Center, Slater Family Ice Arena, Stroh Center, Bowen-Thompson Student Union, Falcon Health Center, and on the sidewalks in Greek Village.

4. Come up with your own ways of Stepping Up or Stepping In. The great thing about this campaign is that it is not limited by committee ideas….you can make it your own. You can create action individually, with your team or student organization.

5. We are planning activities for Spring 2018 and need your help!
