Celebrating 25 Years of Digital Arts at BGSU.
September 30 - November 9, 2017
Join us for the Milestones: A Celebration of BGSU School of Art Alumni / Milestones: Celebrating 25 Years of Digital Arts at BGSU. We are having special events the weekend of September 29th and 30th. We expect to have alumni from across the nation - and the decades - to join us in fun activities including: facilities tours, workshops, opening reception, and more.
Alumni weekend will kick off on Friday evening, September 29, with an ARTalk by 1992 BFA graduate, Chad Greene, at 5:30 p.m. The excitement continues on Saturday, September 30 with workshops during the day, a special 25 years of Digital Arts @ BGSU - Alumni Panel at 4 p.m. in the Donnell Theatre of the Wolfe Center for the Arts, and a public opening reception at 7 p.m. We are planning some really fun events for our alumni and their families throughout the day, so we hope that you can come! Information on our Arts Alumni Weekend events will be online at: www.bgsu.edu/artalumni.
5-7pm Friday Figure Drawing: Alumni are welcome to drop in and draw our live model! Bring your own materials (paper, charcoal, graphite, etc.) and sharpen your observational skills!

WORKSHOPS: Late morning and afternoon, throughout the Wolfe Center and Fine Arts Center
10-11am Printmaking Workshop, Print Society: We will be printing custom t-shirts and posters, with some items for sale. Join us! It will be informal so feel free to drop-in for a few minutes or stay a while.

11am-12pm Thermoplastic - the Deformation of Steel: Come see a demo by current MFA Metals students who will change the shape and molecular structure of steel through the process of hot forging and quenching, turning railroad spikes into utensils.

12-1pm Ceramics: details coming
1-2pm Chickchat - Women in Technology: Women alumni, faculty, and students are invited to this networking event to discuss relevant issues unique to women in the tech industry workplace, ask questions, share professional advice, and offer mentorship.

For out of town guests: We have a group of local hotel rooms reserved at a discounted rate. If you are in need of a room, please indicate so in the question on the online RSVP form.
Yom Kippur starts on the evening of September 29 and ends on the evening of September 30. If you observe this holiday and would like to attend the Saturday night opening, you can arrive on Friday and we can arrange for you to attend services either for Kol Nidre Friday night, for Yom Kippur on Saturday or both and if you prefer, arrange for you to stay close to the synagogue. Please let us know if you need these accommodations.
