ArtsX - December 2 from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center and The Wolfe Center for the Arts - is a pre-holiday celebration of the arts for Bowling Green State University and area communities. Capturing the imaginations of young and old alike, this year’s ArtsX theme—Make. Believe.—features the entertaining enchantment of puppetry. Mel Hatch Douglas, a 1998 BGSU theatre alumna and the associate artistic director of Madcap Puppet Theater Productions, along with her colleagues will share the magic of puppets in their performances of The Firebird. Also Professor Bradford Clark and the BGSU Department of Theatre and Film will share an array of puppets and the puppetmaking process during the event. The 13th annual event showcases arts actitivites such as musical, theatrical and dance performances; exhibits and demonstrations; hands-on activities and art sales for holiday shoppers looking for unique, handmade gifts. The talents of the School of Art faculty and staff are part of the ArtsX experience with the opening of the 66th annual Faculty and Staff Exhibition. Their mixed media, print, paint, glass and graphics works are displayed in the Dorothy Uber Bryan Gallery through Dec. 18.
