What to Expect

Welcome to What to Expect When You’re Expecting (to Study Abroad in Spain)! The purpose of this website is to serve as a resource for Bowling Green State University students who are contemplating, participating in, or looking back on the BGSU AYA Spain study abroad program. The main goal is to help prepare students for their time abroad in Alcalá de Henares. Hopefully, if you are on the fence about studying abroad, this can help you make an informed decision.

This website is divided into four sections:

The blog section is broken up into the following categories:

What to do in Madrid/Alcalá de Henares

The Media section contains students’ photos from their time abroad, including their time in Alcalá/Madrid, other parts of Spain, and even other countries they visited while living in Spain. This section also contains videos of these experiences and video interviews from students who have participated in the program.

The Resources section will have a list of links for prospective study abroad students and their parents to check out. This includes practical information, such as how and where to apply for passports/student visas and where to find the current exchange rate, information about advantages and benefits of studying abroad, links to other travel blogs, and a list of books to check out about Spain.

The About Brittany section tells you a little bit about the author and creator of this website, a BGSU student who studied abroad in the BGSU AYA Spain program during the spring 2016 semester.
