Ohio History Day
The Department of History coordinates Region 1 for Ohio History Day (OHD). Ohio History Day, an affiliate of National History Day, is a grades 6-12 competition (in addition to a youth division for grades 4-5) that offers students the opportunity to present primary and secondary historical research in a variety of categories - original papers, websites, exhibits, performances, and documentaries. The competition exists at the local, state and national levels and is judged by professional historians, educators, and volunteers. It is a great opportunity for students to improve their research, critical thinking, communication and presentation skills. The 2021 Region 1 competition is a virtual event. Follow the registration link below for details.
Registration opens November 30 (for students, educators, and volunteers).
The Ohio History Day Coordinator for Region 1 is Casey M. Stark, Ph.D.
