Department Application Requirements
Deadline to apply is January 14th for full consideration for funding however, late applications will be accepted.
Admission to the Bowling Green State University Master of Arts Program in Popular Culture requires a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum 3.0 accumulative GPA.
- Submit the BGSU Graduate College Online Application
- GRE and TOEFL (if applicable) Scores should be sent to Bowling Green State University code: 1069
- Applicants will also be asked to submit the following additional materials:
Statement of Purpose Essay: This should be 2-to-5 typed pages, that describes your motivations for coming to graduate school, what you hope to achieve in Popular Culture Studies, your plans following the receipt of the Master's Degree, and (if requesting an assistantship) your interests in teaching and other skills that may be useful to the Department
Three (3) letters of recommendation: These should be from former or current instructors or other persons qualified to evaluate probable success in the program. You will provide names and email addresses of your recommenders when submitting your application. Your recommenders will receive an email requesting their letter with a link provided where they can write a letter or upload one.
Resume/CV: This should be a one-to-two page current CV
- Applicants are required to upload a copy of an official transcript from all colleges and universities attended, with the exception of BGSU. Upon admission you will be required to request an official transcript from each degree-granting institution to be sent directly to the Graduate College.
