Adjunct Positions - Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science at Bowling Green State University has a recurring need for part-time instructors (adjuncts). A master’s degree in computer science or a closely related field is required. Evidence of successful teaching at the collegiate level is preferred.

One-semester adjunct positions have start dates in August 2022 or in January 2023. The position carries a 3-, 6-, or 9-hour load (1, 2, or 3 courses, in the classroom or online). Salary varies with teaching load. Adjunct faculty typically teach freshman computer science courses; specific course assignment will depend on the instructor’s credentials. Internal applicants are eligible to apply.

Applications must be emailed by August 7, 2022 and must contain at least the following items: (1) a letter of application, (2) resume or vita, (3) official transcripts, and (4) two letters of reference bearing original signatures and dated within the last year. The letters of reference should specifically address the applicant’s teaching strengths. A statement of teaching philosophy and student evaluations (if available) are welcome additions but are not required. Email attachments should be in Microsoft Word or PDF format. An official transcript, indicating the highest degree attained, will be required at the time of employment. Finalist must consent to a routine background check.  Qualified applicants will also be considered for future part-time employment opportunities that may arise, unless they request otherwise.

Please submit these items by email to Dr. JK Jake Lee, Chair, Department of Computer Science (leej@bgsu.edu)

Applications must be received by August 7, 2022.
