American Sign Language Minor
The American Sign Language Minor is open to students in any major. Language proficiency and cultural knowledge are emphasized throughout the 21 hours of required coursework. This minor prepares students to incorporate American Sign Language in a variety of professional settings including education, the arts, the medical field, business and communication.
Students may choose a Deaf Residential School placement (ASL 3100) or a global study abroad opportunity (ASL 4100) for their cultural immersion experience.
This minor does not lead to licensure or an endorsement. Courses required for the minor may not be taken S/U. An ASL placement interview may be required for students entering BGSU ASL courses from a different institution.
