The Bridge to BG Fund helps those students most in need make up the difference between financial aid and the cost of tuition.

Since the start of the pandemic, more than 700 students have been assisted by this fund. Since fall 2022, approximately 250 applications for emergency relief funding have been submitted. A gift to this fund not only helps students recover financially, but also demonstrates support from Falcons everywhere.

Falcon Media is a student-run, multiplatform news organization that serves an audience of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. The need for mental health and wrap around services continues to increase as we begin to emerge from the global pandemic. BGSU has been proactive in its response to the increased need by offering additional support groups, community interventions, and drop in consultations under our Let’s Talk program. The mission of Accessibility Services at Bowling Green State University is to provide equal access and opportunity to qualified students, faculty and staff with disabilities. Our goal is to increase awareness of disability issues and support the success of students with disabilities by providing opportunities for full integration into the BGSU community. Your donation will enhance support for the Lois Jean Steel Stiffler Scholarship, which impacts students with a documented learning disability.

Physical and mental wellness is a core pillar of BGSU’s Community of Care. The Wellness Connection at BGSU is committed to supporting our campus community through programs like our PAWS Therapy Dog Team. This Team works across campus to reduce stress and anxiety for faculty, staff, and students. The BGSU TRIO Programs Office offers federally funded educational outreach and academic enrichment programs targeted at helping first-generation college students from families with limited income succeed. These programs provide educational opportunities for all Americans regardless of race, ethnic background, or economic circumstances, ultimately graduating skilled and educated adults who can met the needs of a growing economy.

The BGSU Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) promotes the values of belonging and inclusion, building a culture where students, faculty, staff, alumni, and visitors feel a sense of belonging. Focusing on diversity education, LGBTQ+ programs, retention initiatives, and cultural programs, OMA offers education, programming, and support in efforts to create a welcoming, socially just, inclusive campus.

The LGBTQ+ Programs provides programming, education, support, and an inclusive environment for all LGBTQ+ identifying and ally BGSU community members. Support for this initiative will help fund student advocacy assistance and various gender and sexuality spectrum programs and events.

The Center for Women and Gender Equity supports students, staff, faculty, and community partners of BGSU with programs, speakers and services that advance the understanding and potential for gender equity. Your gifts today will better enable the center to enhance its programming and services to the BGSU and greater community.

The Center for Violence Prevention and Education is focused on fostering a culture that prioritizes consent and respect and actively responds to victims/survivors of sexual violence and dating/domestic violence. As we work to foster a community where everyone feels safe, we are initiating a campaign that will provide information, support, and a list of resources at locations throughout our community. Support of this campaign will allow us to raise awareness about preventing sexual assault, dating violence and stalking.

The C. Raymond Marvin Center for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement helps students develop lifelong leadership skills, learn to lead with integrity and empower others to get involved. Support for the center ensures signature leadership training opportunities are available to help students’ network, broaden their reach, excel in their missions, and create lasting positive change in the world.

Scholars in the Sidney A. Ribeau President’s Leadership Academy learn and develop their leadership skills through a comprehensive leadership curriculum grounded in the ideals of servant leadership. Your support provides PLA scholars with meaningful and purposeful experiences throughout their four years as they learn and enact their leadership skills.

For more than 60 years, our mascots have represented the pride and dedication our Falcon family shares for Bowling Green State University. The students who serve the BGSU community through this group are dedicated and passionate Falcons. With a three-year commitment, much of their student experience happens in secret behind a mask. BGSU's Cheer and Dance teams are true ambassadors of the BGSU spirit. They strive to uphold, reflect, and project the goals and ideals of the University, to inspire fans through spirit, leadership and character and to strive to be the best individuals, team and Falcons as possible.

Students in the College are faced with urgent financial need to “cross the finish line” to graduation. In most cases, a “gap scholarship” of $500-$1,000 allows a student to persevere to graduation. This fund provides the flexibility to help students who have unexpected financial hardships or extraordinary circumstances that have impacted their ability to afford higher education.

With fuel costs rising and inflation increasing, EDHD Dean Dawn Shinew wants to give out an even greater number of gas cards at an increased amount to all students who are completing an internship, practicum, student teaching or other classroom-related experiences at a distance from campus. Your gift to this fund helps accomplish this goal. A gas card can show support for our students for what can be a significant educational expense.

With pandemic restrictions easing, EDHD students are enthusiastic to make study abroad part of their defining BGSU experience. Your gift will help support students studying abroad at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The opportunity to experience other cultures plays a critical role in students’ development as global citizens.

For more than a century, Bowling Green State University has been creating public good by driving the educational, cultural, and social and economic vitality of the region, state, nation, and world. These funds give the university the flexibility to act quickly and decisively when the unexpected arises, as well as strengthen ongoing programs – reinforcing BGSU’s ability to be a public university for the public good.

Keeping the BGSU Firelands education affordable has and will remain our promise to the region. By supporting The Firelands Grant, you’ll ensure that starting in fall 2023 all new students with need will receive a scholarship that covers the remaining balance of instructional and general fees after the Federal Pell grant is applied.

The Firelands College Enrichment Fund ensures students engage with a comprehensive University experience that is diverse in offerings, programs, and opportunities. Contributions to this fund support initiatives that advance the University’s mission to provide breadth in student research and engagement.

Gifts will financially support students to create, share and apply knowledge to positively influence the public good, provide financial support for recruiting graduate students of diverse backgrounds and cultures, and other priorities of the college.

This fund supports the greatest needs of the College of Health and Human Services. From enhancing student learning, to recruitment, programming, research, professional development and more, every student and faculty member is impacted by this fund.

As a nationally ranked program, the college’s Criminal Justice Program prides itself on providing unique experiential learning for students, access to internships and professional development opportunities and more. This is all made possible through private support.

Since opening its doors in February 2022, the Falcon Food Pantry has provided food and hygiene items to students experiencing temporary hardship. Last month, the Pantry provided more than 900 bags of food to students, including 37 percent international students. Gifts to this fund will support food security efforts for all BGSU students, faculty and staff on the Bowling Green and Huron campuses

In Fall 2022, BGSU welcomed its inaugural Doctor of Physical Therapy cohort. With 105 students enrolled, the program positions BGSU to create public good by providing quality care for people across the lifespan. Gifts to this fund will provide professional development opportunities, experiential learning and more.

The Speech and Hearing Clinic offers state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic speech, language, and hearing services, and is open to the public and serves all ages. The clinic provides an important community service as well as serving as a training facility for master's and doctoral-level speech-language pathologists.

Gifts to this fund will support student and staff activities related to the College’s diversity and inclusion activities. For one specific initiative, CHHS has partnered with Toledo Public Schools to offer exposure to medical and STEM career fields in a higher education setting. Private support provides transportation, materials, and camper scholarships.

The Tom Klein Leadership Scholarship was established by the University to honor Tom Klein and to create scholarships for University Honors students who have shown an outstanding commitment to their community, demonstrate financial need and who exemplify academic excellence. During his life, Dr. Klein dedicated himself to education and community service. He taught for 30 years at BGSU and impacted many lives on and off BGSU’s campus. Your gift to this scholarship adds to the endowment and honors the legacy of Tom Klein.

The Honors College provides a unique educational environment for some of BGSU’s brightest students. Honors students are educationally motivated and aspire to do things like participate in cutting edge research, build skills in critical thinking, learn leadership skills and so much more. Your gift to the Honors College General Fund allows for the flexibility for the College to provide a wide array of opportunities for students to learn, grow and participate in a way that will benefit the students, BGSU, and the communities that the students will be in after graduation.

More than a full-tuition scholarship, the BGSU Alumni Laureate Scholarship is a distinctive, prestigious program that provides recipients with support from caring mentors who challenge them to broaden their perspectives, prioritize their goals, network with alumni and professional contacts and frame their success through the values of leadership and service. Donations to the Pro Musica Talent Scholarships and Awards fund continue the historic work of Pro Musica by providing talent-based scholarships and professional development opportunities for music students.

The University Band Development Fund exists to support the activities and enhance the mission of the University band program This fund supports several initiatives, including special projects, events, guest lectures, student activities, travel, and musical commissions.

The Schmidthorst College of Business General Fund is a flexible fund that allows college leadership to pivot, innovate, and enrich the experiences of Schmidthorst College of Business students, staff, and faculty. While the fund can be used for scholarships and experiential learning on and off campus, a current focus is to provide students opportunities for resume building industry-based certifications, free of charge to the student.

Help create a bright future for talented, hard-working students by supporting the general scholarship fund. Scholarships are pivotal for many students to help them afford college and engaging in the many learning opportunities made available. This fund is used to help recruit and retain the best Schmidthorst College of Business students.

The Schmidthorst College of Business Student Ambassador Program transforms knowledgeable, motivated, and enthusiastic student leaders to assist the dean and the College in engaging business alumni, current and prospective students. These leaders help ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment in the College. While any amount given to this fund is helpful, $1,200 sponsors a Student Ambassador for a year. Those that give that amount will paired with the student they are sponsoring so they can hear about this impactful program firsthand and further enhance the program through individual mentorship of the student leader.

The PJH Entrepreneurial Center Fund will allow the college to engage more students in entrepreneurship offerings, assist both students and alumni to incubate and launch business ventures, and enhance E-Week each April to attract entrepreneurial leaders from around the country. This fund is not endowed which means that your donation can be put to immediate use to benefit entrepreneurially minded students at BGSU.

Your donation will support a high-quality, leading-edge education for our architecture and construction management students by providing new advanced technology in these fields.

Help directly support our aviation students by providing much needed scholarships to alleviate the additional costs associated with receiving aviation degrees.

The Library Enrichment Fund provides for purchasing of materials, collections, facilities improvements, student and faculty support and other emerging needs. This fund also helps support special events designed to encourage use of the Jerome Library, student employee recognition events and leadership and professional development opportunities for library faculty and staff.

More than 200 student employees of the University Libraries experience financial need, and each year, multiple deserving student employees are awarded scholarships of $1,000. "Our goal as the University Libraries is to continue to award even more scholarships every year."

The Sherri Long Memorial Scholarship provides assistance to a University Libraries student employee by financing a portion of their education at Bowling Green State University. Sherri Long started her career as classified staff at BGSU on May 30, 2006, in the Access Service Department where she worked as a Senior Library Associate. Sherri was recognized by BGSU as a recipient of two Spirit of BG Awards from the Classified Staff Council. She loved volunteering for BGSU preview days, signing up for multiple “snack cart” times to interact with students, and sharing her cooking excellence with colleagues. Sherri made a difference every day that she worked at BGSU; she loved to talk and engage with family, colleagues, students and faculty.

The Falcon Learning Your Way Program supports students with learning differences, such as AD/HD, or students who would benefit from help with time management and learning strategies. FLY can give students the wings they need to navigate the transition from high school to college, all with the support of a learning specialist equipped to work with students from all learning backgrounds.

Help WBGU-PBS continue a 59-year tradition of producing award-winning programs and documentaries while helping BGSU students gain the experience needed to succeed in their field after graduation. Your gift to the WBGU-PBS Fund provides the resources necessary for us to produce The Journal, BGSU Brain Game, WBGU Cooks and the Defiance Jazz Festival, among others.

This fund is used by the Dean of the College to ensure that students have scholarship support available to them to persevere to graduation.
