BGSU Group Visits

Group visits are available for high school teachers, counselors, or community leaders to bring prospective students who are in 9th-12th grade to BGSU.

Please review our Group Visit Guidelines before requesting your group visit. If you have any questions, please contact groupvisit@bgsu.edu.

How do I request a BGSU Group Visit? To request a BGSU Group Visit, please email groupvisit@bgsu.edu
Please reach out at least 4 weeks prior to your ideal visit date, so our team has time to make necessary arrangements. Be sure to include the following information:
    • Expected number of students
    • Age level of students
    • Ideal dates for your visit (please include as many options as possible)

Once your request is received, someone from the BGSU Group Visit Team will reply to finalize details.
Your visit is not confirmed until you have received and completed a formal registration, which will be provided to you by the BGSU Group Visit Team via email.

Who can request a group visit? Group visits are offered for high school students only (grades 9 - 12). We are unable to accommodate requests for elementary or middle school students.
When can we bring our group for a visit?Group visits are offered on select Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
We cannot accommodate group visits on Mondays, Fridays, weekends, holidays or dates when we're hosting large events.
How many students can we bring? We ask that your group does not exceed 50 students.
Some exceptions to this can be made, but this is determined on a case-by-case basis; be sure to include the number of students in your group when sending your email request to groupvisit@bgsu.edu
How many chaperones should accompany our group? Groups are required to provide 1 chaperone for every 10 students in the group; chaperones must stay with their group at all times, including on the campus tour.
Can we eat lunch on campus during our group visit?

If your group is interested in dining on campus, we can make arrangements at our all-you-care-to-eat dining facility, Social House at The Oaks.

Dining on campus is not available during the summer (May 1 - August 20).

Your school/organization is responsible for the cost of lunch, payable to the facility on the day of your visit. Current cost is $11 per person* plus tax, payable by credit card, debit card, check, or cash. If your school or organization is tax-exempt, please bring documentation of your tax-exempt status with you to the dining facility, and you will not be charged tax.

*Dining hall costs are subject to change.

What can we expect the day of our group visit?BGSU Group Visits include an admissions presentation and campus tour. Lunch can be included after the campus tour (late August - late April only).
In order to accommodate as many groups as possible, and to ensure staffing and tour guide availability, all group visits follow a standard itinerary:
