Executive Master of Organization Development
The BGSU Master of Organization Development is a pioneer in the field because we were the first in the country to offer a master's in organization development. Since then, hundreds of better leaders have graduated from the program.
The blended executive program will educate students on best practices and current theories to increase individuals and organizations’ effectiveness. Executive students currently working will find the flexible blend of in-person and online tuition will complement their job and maximize the benefit of lasting relationships with their cohort of around 20 fellow professionals.

The Bowling Green State University Executive Master of Organizational Development program provides graduates with a solid foundation in areas vital to managing change. Students also gain proficiency in tools to improve the performance of individuals and organizations.
The curriculum, both theory-based but practical, applies to both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. Earn your master’s degree in only 18 months while building an extensive network of contacts among your fellow students.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the profession of organizational development (OD), or change management, is projected to experience around 11% growth from 2018-2028. Graduates of Bowling Green’s Executive Master of Organization Development will be positioned for career success.
EMOD alum Ben Blanquera, vice president of client success and experience for Covail, initially looked at MBA programs, but upon discovering the Executive Master of Organizational Development, he chose the course because “it was practical, and it was a nationally renowned program, in my backyard, that I could do on the weekends.”
Blanquera noticed that the primary challenges that he faced in his new role were not rooted in business or technology, but instead they were people-oriented.
“The MOD helped solve the challenges involved in leading people,” he said. “It answered the questions ‘How do you lead? How do you drive successful change?’”
The Executive MOD curriculum is designed to educate students on increasing the effectiveness of individuals and organizations. The blended program delivers course content via online technologies and face-to-face classroom meetings. These are called Executive Residency Weekends and are held just two weekends each term.
Four basic tenets drive the course sequence:
- Understanding organizational change
- Diagnosing organizational change
- Targeting organizational change
- Mastering organizational change
Prior academic preparation in business is not required. Executive students are required to complete 10 courses, typically taken two per semester and completed within 18 months.
Study occurs within a cohort-based class schedule, which allows for the building of lasting relationships and extensive networking among students.
