What does WE ARE ONE TEAM (WA1T) do and what does it stand for?
WE ARE ONE TEAM (WA1T) is an umbrella initiative for multiple
minor projects that promote social justice through sport at BGSU,
including but not limited to projects addressing gender equality,
LGBTQ+ Issues, racism & racist Assumptions, sexism & sexist
assumptions, body Image, and stereotypes & bullying. As a
first-of-its-kind interdisciplinary and interdepartmental initiative,
WE ARE ONE TEAM (WA1T) uses sport as a forum to create a
dialogue and to promote friendship between stereotyped groups on
campus, including but not limited to BGSU Athletics, minority groups,
faculty and administration, and the general student body. Through the
power of sport, WE ARE ONE TEAM (WA1T) aims to strengthen the
sense of community at BGSU by creating awareness of social injustice
and by facilitating an environment that values inclusion, diversity,
and acceptance. As a university-wide movement, WE ARE ONE TEAM
(WA1T) represents a strong group of advocates for positive social
change who are united by their mutual love and passion for

What is the WE ARE ONE TEAM (WA1T) Leadership Board?
One of the core goals of WE ARE ONE TEAM (WA1T) is to bring
together different entities across the university, as we can only make
a true impact if we work together and use our resources effectively.
The WE ARE ONE TEAM (WA1T) Leadership Board ensures constant
exchange and collaboration between all parties involved with the WE
WE ARE ONE TEAM (WA1T) initiative. Our Leadership Board
meetings will ensure that all parties involved stay informed and use
our potential for collaboration that serve our common cause: creating
an environment that values inclusion, acceptance, and diversity. The
monthly meetings ensure that every entity involved is updated on
everything related to WE ARE ONE TEAM (WA1T) and/or other
diversity/sport-related events that take place at BGSU.
Who can join the WE ARE ONE TEAM (WA1T) Leadership Board?
Ideally, each party supporting/involved with WE ARE ONE TEAM
(WA1T) will appoint one representative to serve on the Leadership
Board, who will then be responsible for reporting back to their
office/department/school/organization after each meeting. All WE
ARE ONE TEAM (WA1T) Chairs and student leaders are required to
attend the Leadership Board meetings. As we build more relationships
and partnerships across campus, the Leadership Board will grow in
order to increase the visibility and outreach of WE ARE ONE TEAM
(WA1T) across campus.
How can I be part of the WE ARE ONE TEAM (WA1T) photo campaign?
